1. The service and its operator
Earth & Volcano Explorer and this website are operated by GBApps Company. Contact: mail@gbapps.company.
These terms apply to this website, its articles, the web app and the Android app. They do not govern external USGS, NOAA, CDC or OpenStreetMap services.
2. Information, not an emergency service
The app shows recorded events and educational materials. It does not predict earthquakes, provide earthquake early warning or replace emergency services, official notices or a professional hazard assessment.
Do not wait for an app update when immediate protective action is needed. Follow local authorities, official warnings and posted evacuation routes. Educational models do not calculate hazards, lava-flow paths or tsunami arrival times.
3. Source and version limitations
Data may be incomplete, delayed, revised or unavailable. A saved snapshot is not a live feed. Magnitude is not shaking intensity at a particular location. A volcano entry or status does not establish that an eruption is occurring.
The current version includes a past-day USGS catalog and an atlas of 170 U.S. volcanoes. Background push delivery is not connected. The in-app tsunami feed needs a configured server and has regional coverage. An absent bulletin does not establish safety.
5. Materials and acceptable use
Original project design, text and illustrations, and third-party materials retain their respective rights and licenses. The use of open data does not mean the entire project is offered under a single open-source license. Source and license information is available on this website and in the app.
Do not present the app or its articles as official government warnings. Do not modify a distributed file to deceive users or attempt to disrupt the server. Information you submit directly to external organizations is governed by their rules.
